Time Period:Sometime in the future.

What I Thought:A little sad, but that was okay. Again the writing style seemed calming kinda. I'll be waiting for the next one. :) The plot has me waiting for the next one on the edge of my seat. Though I would say that overall I enjoyed it though I thought it might could have used a bit more action. Even though there is a bit, there are sometimes it got a bit boring. But I did like it :)

He and his best friend Danielle suspect their friend Oz's dad...who also happens to be the head of C.H.A.O.S. They people who are protecting the earth from the Thule. Eternity's Edge

Eternity's Edge by Bryan Davis
The second book from the Echoes from The Edge series.
Read my review of Beyond The Reflections Edge.
Eternity's Edge (Echoes from the Edge)
Summery:Though the universes (Yes, we said in plural) are safe...for now, Nathan is still searching for answers, his parents and more help for the universe. Who wouldn't in his situation? Your parents disappeared to who knows learn that there are three parallel earths...all that. Soon he and his friends Kelly, Daryl, and  Clara are on to another adventure and universes. Kelly though hurt and slightly blind from Mictar's attack, still tags along. She seems to be able to see better in a strange middle verse....where Nathan finds a strange girl who has been guiding and talking to  him in his dreams.

Romance:Loving/liking someone, a kiss, some pecks, hugs. Holding hands.
Bad Romance: Some talk about a mistake Kelly made and he and Kelly sleep on the same mattress barely touching in order to get into Kelly's dreams.

Language: Mention being a Jack--- (maybe)...otherwise none.

Violence:Death/killing, murder, fighting, yelling/arguing, Mictar gouging out eyeballs and also blinding people, life force stealing. Bad injuries.

Other: Other earths/parallel earths.

Time Period:Modern.

What I Thought: I think the first was better...and I am always going to have The Dragons In Our midst series as my favorites. But as always if it is by Bryan Davis, it is good, exciting and keeping you up late reading. Note that some of the jumping to another earth and all that science/dimensional stuff can be a little confusing too.

Rating & Age:4 1/2 stars. 14 up.

She has overheard somethings her parents have's scary for her. She seems to be trying to find something every now and again that she just can't put her finger on. Beastly by Alex Flinn.

(BEASTLY)) BY Flinn, Alex(Author)Paperback{Beastly}Newer Version January 01, 2010

Summery:Kyle has everything. Looks, money, popularity...just not a heart. So when he gets on the wrong side of this girl Kendra...well it turns out she is a witch and has decided he needs a lesson about looking on the inside not just on the outside. He has 2 years to find someone he loves, who loves him back and kisses him. Oh yeah and she kinda transformed him into a beast. Living practically alone...he almost gives up. But then he finds Lindy.

Romance:Kisses, loving/liking someone, admiring, flirting.
Bad Romance: Groping someone in a personal spot in public and in private, implications of people who had done of were going to do "it". Kyle goes to his girlfriends house for a little bit while her mother is away. Not really clear but it is only a couple sentences in mention.

Language:P--s, B---h (?), H--l, B-s---d,a--. And Lindy's dad calls her a sl-t.

Violence:Adrian/Kyle smashed things as a beast, tried to hurt Kendra, a tussle with a crowd and a guy who tried to hurt Lindy, yelling arguing, yelling meant hings at someone, threatening and scaring someone.

Other:Magic, drinking(one chapter, he drank some and then when Kendra changes him he thinks he is just seeing things), witches, spells, drugs (mentioned)

Time Period:Modern.

What I Thought:Even though I did see the movie first and that gave me trouble with seeing Lindy(I liked her better in the book) and maybe Kyle(though I think they cast Kendra and Will perfectly).Otherwise though, I liked the book a lot better. It stuck to the story-line more. In the book it was a better, modern retelling. Also the place where they vacationed in the book was better than in the movie. Just saying. Now in the first couple of chapters there was some cussing and some trashy stuff. But the rest of the  book was clean. I think that it would be alright for younger (13ish) kids to read, if their parents said it was fine. I really enjoyed it and already have the next book :)

Rating & Age:5 stars. 14 up.

Top secret you know. But now Colt's parents have been killed in a car accident. That may not have been an accident. He is now living with his Grandpa (who looks a lot like a  WW2 comic book hero...or so some say). Well Cammie may still be hurting from her encounter with Josh...So when she overhears her mom talking about something called Blackthorne, that is top secret...she and her friends start to investigate. Cammie could get in a little trouble for some of what she is doing to find out what in the world Blackthorne is/means. Thunder Of Heaven

Thunder Of Heaven by Tim Lahaye and Craig Parshall.

Thunder of Heaven: A Joshua Jordan Novel (End Series, The)
Summery:A shocking attack on some planes...blowing up one. It seems the RTS(return To Sender) might not have worked. Joshua Jordan is very upset about that. Meanwhile there seems to be a mole in the government. Cal Jordan has decided to try and help out (especially after his almost death) with what his parents do for the country...but his dad (Joshua) wants to protect him and says no. Deborah Jordan was saved from breaking her neck, as she was in one of the Chicago planes that got attacked,by a Military man, Ethan,  who knew her dad and happens to really like her. Cliques, Hicks And Ugly Sticks

Confessions Of April Grace:Cliques, Hicks And Ugly Sticks by K.D. McCrite.
Read my review of In Front Of God And Everybody.
Summery:Well, April Grace has finally started to like Isabel St. James. Of course she still thinks she was plenty dumb to hurt herself in a car accident...but still, she is bearable. But she sure doesn't like the clique at school, the group, The Lotties, are just plain mean her Grandma is having boyfriend troubles again...this time she has to many! And April Grace is sure that there is something wrong with her Mama. Welcome back to the crazy, but totally honest, life of April Grace!

Romance: Little crushes, her Grandma having(kinda) a love triangle or someone liking her. April Grace's parents making "gooey eyes" at each other and grossing her out.

Violence: Yelling/arguing, peashooters, contractions or not feeling well because of the baby.

Other:Talk of pregnancy (not "bad" talk), smoking, cliques (the bad kind though even if it is an innocent clique you could still be hurting someones feelings).

What I Thought:A funny sequel! Even though it is for younger and the MC (Main Character) is younger it is a fun and delightful book. Quirky and unique, April Grace is sure to make you laugh.

Swinging On A Star

Swinging On A Star by Janice Thompson.
(Weddings By Bella book two)
Read my review of Fools Rush In.

Summery:Bella has another wedding to pull off! This time it's a medieval/renaissance themed wedding. And the best man or first knight, is a movie star. Brock Benson is a huge hit in Hollywood... and everywhere else. He seems to have some interest in Bella...on her side? Well he is a movie star..but she still finds D.J. more her "type". Meanwhile D.J.'s brother is in an Opera and Bella's aunt Rosa is going to be on The Food Network...the same day as the wedding. Can they keep the cameras away from Brock and can the wedding go on without a hitch?

Romance:A good deal of kissing (not really descriptive), holding hands, hugging/cuddling, liking/loving someone, flirting. Some innocent implication to wedding nights. (SPOILER!) Marriage proposals.

Violence:Bella shoves who she thinks is a nosy reporter(oops, police officer) and spends the night in jail. Yelling/arguing, a storm that scares everyone because the groom and friends are out at sea.

Other:Slight mention of drugs, shop lifting and Brock's mom slept with a lot of men...kinda as a job?

Time Period:Modern.

What I Thought: It was a laugh out loud funny book and the family was just wonderful. A great story and very enjoyable. The characters and setting are so much fun too.

Rating & Age:5 stars. 14 up.

Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs.
Read my reviews of Tera Lynn Childs other books.

Summery:Lily has a big secret. She is a mermaid going to high school on land. She thinks she has found her perfect match, a guy names Brody. She is attempting to get him to like her and then she will tell him the truth and live happily ever after. But when her pesky, annoying, (a little cute too) neighbor kisses her forming  a bond between them and now he will start to transform into a merman. She has to tell him.She takes him to her father to break the bond...but a long the way who knows what wil happen?

Romance:bonding(kinda like and engagement) it's supposed to enhance romantic feelings between the couple, 3 + kisses a little descriptive. Hugging and holding hands.
Bad Romance:Her dad and mom didn't bond correctly and had Lily before the bond. Quince scarred her when he would call and tell her not to leave the window open when she was taking a bath(he was kidding her). She takes of her pants and underwear so she can change into her tail she is out in the water and he couldn't see anything.

Language:D-m-, H--l, A--, P--S, B-t-h.

Violence:Quince hits Brody a couple times, Lily slams him once or twice, yelling/arguing.

Other:Mermaids, magic, slight mention of the Greek gods.

What I Thought:Cute! Nice romance...the ending stunk a little(I didn't like was sad:( ) I was very happy that this book wasn't dark, since I find that a lot of mermaid books are.

Other:Magic of sorts, The shining ones, and other false gods.

Time Period:Our history, but a little different, somewhat medieval.

What I Thought:The 2cd was the best so far...then this one. Other than the gore...the plot was great and the characters were good and strong :) Frewin Jones is a great Fantasy writer. And she usually keeps it pretty clean.

Graceling by Kristen Cashore.
Summery:Katsa has been her uncle, King Randa's,  thug since she got her Grace as a child. Killing everyone said. She's hurt many people because of her uncle.Through her dislike of this she has created a council to help the pheasants and divert bad situations that the Kings could have caused...a sort of rebellion. When rescuing a Lienid man who has been kidnapped. She meets a Lienid prince the same night...who is nearly as good of a fighter as she is. When she meets him, Po, (as she learns) again...well the adventure truly begins.

Romance:Some kisses, hugging, thinking someone as handsome, loving someone.
Bad Romance:Po and Katsa sleep and go all the way. It isn't necessarily very descriptive but you get a pretty clear picture of what happens. She takes a medicine to prevent her getting pregnant. (Pages, if you want to skip it... because you really could, are:233, 234{?}235, 237, 241-243, 247, 467.) The main ones are in bold. The others are just talking about it or making out a bit. Some merchants make some bad comments and try to take advantage of a young girl.

Violence:A lot of fighting/battle/combat scenes, some were wrestling with Po.Others were really fighting or purposely hurting people. Katsa gave bloody deaths or pain when ordered by her uncle. Leck ( bad guy) would injure animals and girls seriously(he was a little wacko and sicko).

Other:Their talents called graces that were given to some people.

Time Period:? It was medieval-ish with a kinda Japanese/Chinese feel.

What I Thought: Other than those few pages it was a wonderfully written book. The characters really grasped me and I could almost see Po the author described him so well. If you want to skip that one part or if it's alright with you than I would highly, highly recommend this also has a great plot :)

Rating & Age:If I count the stuff 4-4 1/2 stars. Overall and ignoring that it would be 5 stars. 14 up.

Violence:Not really descriptive short fighting scenes(she knocks the breath out of a guy, kicks another and some guards are knocked out by the other girls), she wanted to scratch someone's eyes out.

Other:Lying, smoking(very brief).

What I Thought:Great plot idea...girls+spy+school= a great idea! It will make you read the whole book pretty fast :) It was pretty clean so it's a great book for teen girls...pretty funny too. The romance is a big part of the book, but it's pretty innocent.
