Forsaking All Others by Allison Pittman.
(The Sister Wife series book two)
Romance:Kissing, loving someone, Camilla is married and the had had two children. There is some mention of her husband rubbing her belly and such, the way she slept next to him and he tries to convince her to come back with him, the sleep together that night and though nothing is really described it is best for younger readers not to read that part.later she finds out that she got pregnant form that night. The Colonel who took her in loves her, while she was still married.
Bad Romance:Her husband also took on two other wives. She mentions how she felt when he took another on of his wives in with him instead of her.
Violence:She looses two fingers to frostbite, her father dies of a sickness, she is verbally talked down about what she will get for running away from the faith and such.
Other:Taking on another wife, divorce, though in this case I think it's a good thing. The Mormon beliefs mentioned.
Time Period:1958-1959 (?).
What I Thought:It was so sad how they actually believed stuff like they would become a God in heaven and taking on other wives. That was areal downer but I love Camilla strength...she wasn't perfect and that made her feel real. And the ending is great...everything kinda works out. It felt like a very well researched book and it was well written.
Rating & Age: 4 stars. 15 up.
