His Steadfast Love

His Steadfast Love by Golden Keys Parsons.

Summery:When Amanda meets Captain Kent Littlefield it's practically love at first sight! But soon the civil war begins and Amanda is a southren belle with a father who doesn't want a blue belly Yankee near his daughter. Amanda also feels torn because of a promise to her dying mother to look after her siblings. Through the cruel was with loved ones on both sides...she will be brave and learn to trust in God and prayer.

Romance:Loving, admiring/thinking about someone, talking about someone you love in a loving way, flirting, some kisses, hugging, holding hands. Innocent implication to wedding nights/marriage.
Bad Romance:Mention of rape and a soldier tries to kiss Amanda but is stopped.

Language:H-ll is mentioned as a place.

Violence:Death, killing, shooting, severe injuries.Bad conditions at a prison camp. Two soldiers are shooting repeatedly a soldier form the other side. Losing a limb, threats, some punches thrown.

Other:Vengeance/rage between the two sides, slavery, war.

Time Period:1861-1865.

What I Thought:A great historical fiction story and it had a lot of facts and all the like. The setting and plot was good and so were the characters. My only problem was that it seemed like Kent & Amanda fell in love pretty fast...maybe too fast. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable book!

Rating & Age:4 stars. 14 up.

I got this book free from the publisher.
