The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer.
Book eight in the Artemis Fowl series.
Summery: Having just been given the all clear for being completely(or mostly) sane (he could have told you that!) Artemis Fowl is going home! However before he can even start his journey back above, Opal Kaboi has unleashed her latest scheme and put it into action. It's devastating what she has achieved, the shutting down of the underground world pretty much. Butler, Holly and Artemis barely have escaped the underground and they are now on their way to try and stop Opal. However they have hardly any chances of doing so...with their resources so depleted. And she has ancient ghost warriors helping her too. They are the last line of defense against her, to what just might be the end to the humans race.
Romance:None really, a paragraph on how Foaly met his wife nothing more.
Violence: Killing, shooting, injuries, battles/fighting, a bunch of mini bombs blowing up a lot of stuff, kidnapping, wanting to hit/hitting someone, yelling/arguments.
Other:Possession, cloning, lying/hiding something, manipulation, magic, warlocks, goblins, pixies, fairies, demons, centaurs, stealing.
My Thoughts: I was a bit disappointed as this wasn't as good as the three books before it. It seemed like Artemis was missing a certain spark. However I still enjoyed it as I have the rest of the series and it was an interesting way to end the series. I felt that it was a good way to end even if I wasn't completely satisfied. It was exciting and it was great to be "watching" the characters you grew to love through the series in action one last time. I would recommend to guys and girls Tween aged plus.
